Journalist, Podcaster, Entrepreneur
The North Star of my career has always been my curiosity in producing original stories and learning about the people behind them. Stories that inform and move audiences, stories that agitate and anger them to take action, and stories that unseal emotions of human compassion.
After decades of leading many respected television and radio newsrooms in the U.S., I became curious in podcasting in 2009 and what this new form of storytelling could add to our collective dialogue. Self-taught before the word podcasting was really used, I launched series after series on topics that interested me. All of these series contain my hallmark of curiosity. I dove in, asked deep questions of strangers, questions they’ve never been asked or even contemplated. The results are the most authentic conversations I’ve ever had, ones I couldn’t have imagined as a young teen delivering newspapers in the cold rain or as a college student learning journalism in Boston.
From being honored with prestigious journalism awards, including an Edward R. Murrow, Emmy’s, New York Festivals, and Clarions, to recognition for my podcasting work, with three Communicator Awards for Best Podcast and Best Podcast Host, I’ve taken all I’ve learned and created an exciting podcast production company serving global clients, called “Shaping Culture.” But without my foundation rooted in curiosity, my career timeline you see below wouldn’t have been possible, let alone rewarding.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my work. I invite you to connect and get in touch if I can help you in any way.
